AI Edits, on the Record: See Exactly What Changed

Agent edits land in the document with a change record; ask for a proposal when you want to review first.

By ·

When you ask the assistant to change a document, it now makes the edit directly. You do not have to approve every replacement before the draft can move forward. The change appears on a card showing what was removed and added, with a way to undo it.

That gives a straightforward request a straightforward outcome. Ask to tighten a section, read the revised passage, and use the card if you want to take the change back. The record keeps an agent's work visible instead of leaving you to discover it by comparing the whole document yourself.

There is still a place for deciding before anything changes. Explicitly ask for a suggestion or to review the change first, and it waits as a proposal for Accept or Reject. A proposed edit is not an applied edit, and the interface distinguishes them.

The same principle applies to connected agents: ordinary edits apply; requested review waits. Destructive edits check the section against what the agent read, so a stale request must be reconsidered rather than silently overwrite newer work.

Open a draft and ask for one specific edit.
