Document Assistant: AI That Works in Your Draft
Ask questions about a document and make changes without moving the draft into another chat app.

The document editor now has an assistant alongside the writing. You can ask what a section means, request a clearer structure, or ask for a rewrite while keeping the draft in view.
This is different from copying a document into a separate conversation and pasting an answer back. The assistant has the document as context and can make the change in the document itself. Selecting text also gives you a way to make a request about a particular passage rather than explain where it lives.
For example, highlight an introduction and ask for a shorter opening that keeps the same argument. Or ask which parts of a requirements section need clarification before requesting any changes. A question and an instruction to edit are different requests; use the former when you want to discuss the writing first.
The assistant is a writing aid, not a substitute for checking the result. Read the changed passage in context, especially when the draft contains requirements or commitments.
Open a document and ask the assistant about the paragraph you are working on.
